Definitive Technology CS9040 Overview
The CS9040 is a high-performance center channel speaker that uses aluminum-dome tweeters and a high-performance BDSS mid/bass driver. It also features an integrated 8” passive bass radiator. The CS9040 is designed for a wide range of music genres.
The center channel is critical to the quality of vocal clarity and is also the location of much of the sound effects audio in films. While many competing center channel speakers concentrate on voice dialog, the CS9040 provides full-range center-channel audio. It features a bass radiator that doubles the woofer's bass surface area, providing deeper, fuller sound. The bass radiator also supports even bass distribution throughout the room.

The CS9040's center-channel speaker is designed to reproduce demanding audio content with incredible clarity. Its 1" aluminum-dome tweeter and BDSS high-performance drivers combine to create a sound that's clear and detailed. The speaker's air-tight cabinet also features an aircraft-grade aluminum design for durability and stability.
The CS9040 is fitted with two high-performance BDSS mid/bass drivers, which feature BDSS (second generation) technology for improved excursion. This allows the woofers to produce bass output that would otherwise be unobtainable with smaller drivers. The CS9040 also features an 8-inch passive bass radiator that delivers deep bass and eliminates the need for a powered subwoofer.
