Besides the unique polymer design, the speaker also features oversized holes and spring-loaded wire terminals.

The DI 3.5R In-Wall & In-Ceiling Speaker's grille and frames are paintable, making them a great choice for homes and offices. The grilles are attached to the speakers with powerful neodymium magnets. The DI Series features in-wall, ceiling and Bipolar surround speakers in various sizes and styles. They can rock any room, no matter its size or style.
The DI 3.5R In-Wall/In-Ceiling Speaker by Definitive Technology offers a unique Disappearing In-Wall Design. The mounting flange is just 2.5mm thick and features a micro-perf grille to deliver the best sound quality. The speaker's grille is also made of proprietary cloth scrim that helps conceal the speaker's parts.
The DI 3.5R utilizes a 3.5" BDSS driver with a wide frequency response and low distortion. The cone's size also contributes to its bass output. The 3.5R has a remarkably high bass output and an impressive dynamic range.
