The Polk Audio Legend Premium L800 Floorstanding Speakers are a high-performance floorstanding speaker system that uses dual 10" high-excursion woofers.
The L800 are a stereo pair, though you can purchase the Left and Right versions separately. The Polk L800 speakers use Polk's legendary SDA technology to deliver the ultimate in immersive sound. The L800s can be used as a stereo pair or bi-amped.
The Legend L800 speakers deliver a rich, detailed mid-range. Their "SDA Pro" technology anchors each artist's voice to the interior of the Polk speaker. This technology also helps deliver more accurate stereo separation. As a result, each artist's voice will be portrayed with extraordinary detail and realism.
Polk Audio Legend Premium L800 Specification
The Polk Legend L800 is a new SDA speaker with several patents that enable it to maintain full stereo separation from the source to the listener's ears. This feature provides the purest stereo imaging, minimizing inherent stereo distortion and interaural crosstalk. This is achieved by utilizing a second column of transducers called a dimensional array.
The L800 speakers work best in a near-wall installation. If they're too far apart, they degrade imaging. In contrast, near-wall placement re-creates the image as if it's gigantic. In addition, near-wall placement helps reinforce low frequencies and bolster bass.
