Is the manufacturer warranty valid if I buy from any online store?

Not automatically. India warranty applies when the product came through the brand's authorised India channel and you hold a GST invoice from an authorised seller. Where the box was opened has nothing to do with it; where it entered the country has everything to do with it.

Here is why. Each brand appoints one distributor for India, and that distributor is the one paying for warranty service here. Service centres check the serial number's import channel before they touch a unit. If the serial belongs to a batch imported by someone else, for another market, the centre is within its rights to refuse service, or to quote you a paid repair. The product is genuine. The warranty is not yours.

Second point people miss: warranty terms differ by country. What a brand promises in the US, or prints on a global website, does not automatically apply here. Duration, coverage and even whether the warranty is transferable are set per market. So a listing that quotes an overseas warranty period for a unit sold in India is telling you something, and not something reassuring.

Does "online" itself matter? No. An authorised dealer selling online gives you exactly the same cover as the same dealer's showroom. An unauthorised seller with a beautiful website gives you exactly the same cover as an unauthorised seller with a handcart, which is none. The channel is the variable, not the medium.

How to check: look for the seller on the brand's India website partner list, and ask in writing whether the India warranty applies to your invoice. Both take five minutes and cost nothing. Discovering the answer in month eight costs considerably more.
