Some reasons are honest, some are not, and the number on the page will not tell you which. The channel behind the number will.
The legitimate reasons first. Dealers work on different margins. Some get better terms from the distributor because of volume. Outgoing models get cleared when the new generation lands, and a fair discount on last year's AVR is a real bargain, not a red flag. Bundling with speakers or installation also shifts where the margin sits. All of that produces a spread of maybe a few percent across authorised sellers, and I would not lose sleep over it.
The risky reasons are where the spread gets large. Grey imports without India warranty. Open-box or demo units sold as new. Aged stock from a previous production run. And the "price" that quietly changes on the phone once you have committed emotionally, usually because the advertised figure never included GST, or never included the unit actually being available.
So compare like-for-like before you compare numbers: sealed unit, authorised channel, GST invoice in your name, India warranty through the distributor. Two quotes that both meet those four are comparable. A quote that fails one of them is a different product wearing the same model number.
Why does the same box carry such different real value? Because a receiver is the most electronics-dense thing in a home theatre. When it fails, it fails at the mainboard or HDMI board, and the difference between "covered" and "not covered" on that repair is larger than any discount you were chasing.
Our position: we keep our prices among the lowest in the authorised market, and we do not play the phone game. If you find a better valid quote from an authorised dealer, share it and we will do our best. If the quote is from somewhere that will not answer the warranty question, I would rather explain why than match it.
