The new driver profile is more rigid and less dimpled than the last generation, and the cone's aluminum alloy improves tensile strength while retaining its excellent directivity. Inside, a new magnet structure and rear chamber design give the tweeter more sensitivity in higher frequencies than ever before. The Uniform Dispersion Waveguide II technology and compression ring offer a thrillingly clean treble response.

With the introduction of the seventh generation Silver Series, Monitor Audio has brought the best of its decades of audio expertise to an entire range of hi-fi and home cinema loudspeakers. These are finished in a choice of five luxurious finishes - including two real-wood veneers - for an understated look, and boast class-leading performance thanks to the latest drivers, C-CAM technology, and Rigid Surface Technology II.
This is the first height effects speaker to be introduced into the Silver Series, and it is designed to be positioned on top of one or more Silver 300 floor-standers (which themselves can also serve as a height effects unit) for an unrivalled 3D experience with Dolby Atmos.
Alternatively, it can be used as a single-height channel speaker, mounted high up on the wall using the keyhole wall mounts provided with the speakers. Its grilles are shaped and sized to fit on top of the Silver 300 speakers perfectly, and the whole thing looks like one seamless element.
Another feature to be welcomed is that the speakers have been designed to fit with standard in-ceiling back boxes, and this allows them to be easily retrofitted into an existing system, as well as being a perfect solution for those looking to build their own home cinema system.
The speakers also have a wide range of connectivity options, making them easy to connect with your amplifier and receiver. Among them are gold-plated binding posts and a quick-fit connection system that ensures the speakers are securely connected to your source.
There is a dedicated phono input for your vinyl records, and there is a switchable di-pole/bi-pole configuration, especially for home cinema systems. The speakers also have a high-quality built-in amplifier for optimum performance.
